Prior to lessons, a meet & greet is usually scheduled. At this appointment, you can expect to learn about the studio, policies, sign paperwork and an agreement, ask questions, and become comfortable with both Mrs. Cushman and her studio space.

Doniell Cushman uses the following methods according to the needs, goals, and age of her students:

- Theory Time
- Fundamentals of Piano Theory
Piano Studio Library
Mrs. Cushman keeps a large and accessible music library in her piano studio. Music ranges from ancient, Baroque, High Classical, Romantic, Impressionism, Rag, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Show, Movie, Contemporary, Folk, and more! There are hundreds of books and sheet music, as well as a well stocked CD and LP collection that includes great performances of many great musicians and musical groups.
